I Left My Heart In San Francisco

I love the Bay Area so much. Many years ago I lived in Southern California, and I adored the sunny weather, year round beaches and all of the incredible culture that the Golden State has to offer, but visiting San Francisco a few times a year was always a highlight. Making the drive through the central valleys, passing endless plains and windmills, driving up the coast through Big Sur, Carmel and Monterey, cutting across through San Jose and finding myself driving over the bridge to the Embarcadero for dinner and to watch the waves crashing in the Bay. Walking through Haight-Ashbury and finding it still as lively as it was in the 60's.

When my friends Kevin and Sharon-Rose, two incredibly talented musicians that I had had the honor of sharing stages with back when I was a full time guitarist, asked me to photograph their wedding, it was a no brainer to say the least. Sharon-Rose's mother, brother and sisters had been like a second family to me when I first moved out west from my hometown of Milwaukee, and getting to be there and capture their day really did feel like I was celebrating with family.
